A princess who doesn’t need some random rich guy to be her savior?
A princess who is not only brave enough and tough enough to forgive her sister
who she believes has horribly mistreated her, but who is also willing to save
her sister a great personal cost to herself? That, ladies and gentlemen, is a
great role model for young girls.
Are the characters flawed? Absolutely! Beautifully so. Are
they damaged? You bet they are. Who isn’t? That’s what makes them so relatable.
Those are the kinds of characters I want to present in the books I write. Characters
that have depth and resonate with kids, because even at a young age, bright,
wonderful, amazing girls already know they aren’t perfect.

This one was the most boring in last few years.
ReplyDeleteThe fact it is not oriented on the love thing is good, but the movie really lacked story, 90 % was pretty empty..
I'm intrigued... And glad you posted! What recent Disney movies did you enjoy? Why?
ReplyDeleteBut I think I will give it a second chance. I heard the japanese version of the Let it Go, with a bit different lyrics and I somehow found a new meanings in the movie I missed before. (Story for children and I manage to miss the main point.. but I was really pretty bored and paied attention mostly the snowman:))
ReplyDeleteMost of all I love Tangled. It is a lot about a boy, but I really love the characters - mostly the amazing horse and thugs. I found it much more funny and also unless Frozen I had a feeling that something happening all the time.
ReplyDeleteI found Tangled watchable, but I really preferred the message in Frozen. As a girl who never fit the Disney princess mold (and found it ridiculous as a child), this may have spoken to me differently than it did you. :) What can I say? I could always keep up with the boys, but put me in a dress or near a tea set and I become all thumbs!
